Hey, this is issue #63 of The Slice. 

In theory the concept of choice is really simple. Apples or oranges? Pizza or burgers? Is it a Netflix and chill day or is it a get off your ass and do something constructive kinda day - just me, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with becoming a potato for a day. 

It's only natural that some of the decisions we make may impact us negatively and there is not a lot we can do but wipe the shit out of your eyes and carry on with your day bro. Shit happens. 

My biggest fuck up that I regret only because I didn't know how to make better decisions was going to University far far away in a notorious student town because all my friends were going. This still keeps me up at night and if I had to go back I would have done things a lot differently, but oh well. 

When it comes to making decisions, here's 3 rules of thumb. 

- If you can’t decide, the just say yes.

- If two equally difficult paths, choose the one more painful in the short term (pain avoidance is creating an illusion of equality).

- Choose the path that leaves you more equanimous in the long term.

As I've gotten older, I've become more prone to making better decisions, but maybe that just because up until this point I've learnt to identify what is a bad decision and whats a good one.
